FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY | Tracking rounds of strong storms and local high water concerns

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Rounds of rain and showers are expected to continue into the weekend, with local high water and flash flooding concerns also persisting.

After a foggy start to our day will lead into a stormy afternoon. Temps will climb by midday into the 85-88 degree range, with skies feeling stormy ahead of any rain. Scattered showers show up in the early afternoon, with isolated thunderstorms increasing in coverage as the day carries on. The potential for a line of severe storms shows up as we approach sunset, with strong and damaging winds possible.

Flash flooding concerns will continue into the weekend as well, so be aware of strong thunderstorms that may cause local high water issues. As always, turn around, don’t drown when you see water over a roadway…
