The Allen Police Department is accepting applications for its 52nd Citizens Police Academy.
Classes begin Sept. 3 and run through Nov. 19. Accepted applicants will experience various aspects of the police department, including school resource officers, traffic and motors units, criminal investigations, SWAT, police drones, crime scene investigation, gun range training, tactical police driving and police K-9 units.
