Wanted Rockford man arrested after reports of ‘gunspinning’

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested John Guirlando, 52, on weapons charges after reports that he was “spinning a handgun on his finger like a cowboy.”

On July 17, around 1 p.m., officers were called to the 1900 block of Bell School Avenue for the incident. Authorities found the suspect sitting in a wheelchair in his driveway.

Authorities said they found a firearm in his sweater pocket before he started to reach for the weapon.

Officials pulled his hand back and took him into custody…
