Downtown St. Louis celebrates revamped 7th Street corridor

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis city leaders are celebrating the completion of a construction project that revitalizes the path on 7th Street from Busch Stadium to America’s Center.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday morning for the project, which aims to improve the experience for downtown commuters.

The upgrades include new protected bicycle and pedestrian lanes, new trees and lighting, the revamping of 7th Street from Walnut to Washington, sidewalk and crosswalk improvements and new traffic management upgrades.

“You know its spaces that allow you to stop, wander, and really explore, that really create the experiences that we’re looking for in our communities. This is what 7th Street does now,” said Spencer. “From Busch Stadium to the Dome at America’s Center, its what we need more of to keep downtown becoming more and more attractive to residents, workers, visitors, businesses, all of us.”…
