Crash damages Park Central Square in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A car crash has left damage to downtown Springfield.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, when a car being pursued by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies hit the curb in front of the square. Witnesses on the scene say that the vehicle became airborne and crashed into the square, causing damage to the curb and several trees.

The chase began when Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Campbell and Battlefield to assist the Springfield Police with a suspect vehicle that had fled from officers. Deputies located the car, which then fled from them as well…
