EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department (EPD) have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on November 26, 2024, near West 13th Avenue and Lawrence Street.
EPD tells us Jairmee Allen Cates, a 19-year-old from Springfield, was taken into custody on July 17, 2025, for:
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon
- Menacing
EPD’s investigation revealed that Cates was in possession of a high-power rifle and menaced three individuals known to him, allegedly punching one of them near the intersection.
On the night of the incident, EPD shares that officers responded to reports of shots fired and found shell casings on Lawrence St. A search of the area revealed that three parked vehicles had been struck by bullets…
