AG Bondi Shuts Down Epstein Questions at Fentanyl Press Conference
Attorney General Pam Bondi firmly refused to address questions about Jeffrey Epstein during a press conference Saturday focused on the fentanyl crisis. The conference, held to address the rising number of fentanyl-related deaths, saw Bondi deflect inquiries about the DOJ’s recent conclusions on Epstein’s death and the release of related video footage.
The DOJ report concluded that Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, contradicting some conspiracy theories. The department also stated that, after an extensive review, no further disclosure of information – including any supposed “client list” – was deemed appropriate or warranted. This clarification comes after Bondi previously stated she had Epstein-related documents, later clarified as not pertaining to a client list.
When pressed by reporters about these matters, Bondi reiterated the focus of the press conference: “This today is about fentanyl…about people who have died…I’m not going to talk about Epstein.” She emphasized the importance of addressing the fentanyl crisis and the impact on families across the country.
Former President Trump, who has publicly supported Bondi, called for the release of grand jury testimony related to Epstein, subject to court approval, and denounced the ongoing controversy as a “scam.” Following this, Bondi announced the DOJ’s motion to unseal the grand jury transcripts, a motion filed Friday by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
