Boston judge delays sentencing for former city councilor in corruption case

A Boston federal judge continued the sentencing hearing for former Boston City Councilor Tania Feranades Anderson, who pleaded guilty to corruption charges in May.

On Friday, Judge Indira Talwani approved a motion from Fernandes Anderson’s attorney, Scott Lauer, requesting a continuance. According to the motion, Anderson “recently submitted a response, including a variety of requested documentation, to the probation office.”

“The probation office has advised … that additional time would be helpful to complete its review of that documentation and update the draft presentence report,” the motion continued…
