Forsyth County officials declare July as “Parks and Recreation Month”

Officials in Forsyth County are taking pride in their efforts to keep their recreational parks and facilities in top condition through a recent declaration withing their county’s departments.

During a July 17 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the month of July 2025 as Parks & Recreation Month to recognize the County’s Department of Parks & Recreation for its commitment to providing the community with safe, clean and inclusive parks and recreation opportunities.

Department of Parks and Recreation Director Kirk Franz said through a release and social media posts, “Parks & Recreation is not just playgrounds or pavilions or recreation centers; it’s a place where kids learn teamwork, families come to gather, families make memories, and seniors stay active, and communities come together. It’s a cornerstone of health, wellness and quality of life. We’re proud of the role that we play in serving the residents of Forsyth County, and we’re also grateful for the (county’s) Board of Commissioners’ continued support and investment in our mission.”…
