GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sherman Simmons, 60, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly swinging a machete at another man.
The responding Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 12:32 a.m. on July 18, the victim was “looking for the rest of his weed” on the front porch of Simmons’s home in the 800 block of SE 9th Street when Simmons came out of the house and said he “was about to kill someone.”…
