Athens Police escorts procession honoring U.S. Army Private who died in WWII

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) — The Athens Police Department escorted a procession that honored a U.S. Army Private who passed away during WWII.

According to the department, U.S. Army Private Mack Kidd was transported from Nashville, Tennessee to Moulton, Alabama along I-65 on Thursday.

Police blocked off southbound traffic at Exits 354, 351 and 357 for a few minutes for the escort…
