HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good morning and happy Friday. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early this morning with very warm temperatures in the middle to upper 70s.
A mix of sun and clouds are expected for the morning and afternoon and high temperatures warm quickly into the lower to middle 90s. The humidity levels are very high today and the heat index should reach the lower 100s, be sure to stay hydrated and cool. Scattered to numerous rain showers and thunderstorms are going to develop during the afternoon and evening. Some of the more organized storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and brief gusty winds.
Showers and storms should dissipate before 10PM leaving us partly cloudy and warm overnight with Saturday morning lows in the middle 70s. Both Saturday and Sunday are going to be very hot and humid with the heat index staying over 100 degrees both afternoons.
