MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile County teen is making a difference in her community, one care package at a time.

16-year-old Abby Turner, a student at Alma Bryant High School, created BRIGHT Boxes, a nonprofit community service project, aimed at supporting deployed U.S. military troops through carefully crafted packages.
“Immediately I thought of our troops and what we can do to help them,” Turner said. “My mom suggested, ‘what about we send them care packages?’”
That idea sparked a mission: Bringing Relief, Inspiration, and Giving Hope Today. Or ‘BRIGHT’ for short.
