ROBERTSDALE, Ala. (WALA) – Several medical helicopters responded to an early-morning crash in Robertsdale that injured multiple people today after a vehicle struck a building, according to the Robertsdale Fire Department.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. near Alabama 59 and Wilters Street.
Robertsdale crews, assisted by the Summerdale Volunteer Fire Department, arrived at the scene to find a vehicle had hit a building that was vacant at the time of the accident, authorities said.
Although no one was trapped in the vehicle, five people were injured, according to Robertsdale FD. Authorities said four medical helicopters airlifted four people to area trauma centers because of the severity of their injuries.
