Man allegedly hits ex-girlfriend’s taillight with tire iron outside apartment

A homeless man in Groveland was arrested on a warrant this week for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend’s taillight with a tire iron outside her apartment.

An officer with the Leesburg Police Department responded to Little Turtle Apartments, located at 1350 Pamela St., Leesburg, regarding a damaged vehicle around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, July 12, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. Upon arrival, he met with the ex-girlfriend of 24-year-old Bryant Daijon Ware.

She advised that Ware, who she dated for less than a month, was talking to her on the phone and asked if he could come over. She told him that he was not welcome at the apartment and not to come over. After some time, he showed up anyway to knock and bang on her door, the affidavit said.

The ex-girlfriend eventually opened the door to ask Ware to leave, and he was persistent in wanting to talk. He held her arms and asked if he could come inside. She pulled away, went back inside and locked the door, the affidavit said…
