Or maybe you have already noticed the new one at the corner of Par Street and Edgewater Drive in College Park.
After being damaged in a car accident three years ago, one of the original College Park neighborhood signs required restoration and was reinstalled last year. The College Park Neighborhood Association, which oversees the maintenance and maintains ownership of the signs throughout the College Park Main Street District, set up a committee to restore the sign, following the accident in 2022.
The four neighborhood signs were first installed in 1995 through a fundraising initiative led by David Rose and built by Greg Jameson. The restoration of the damaged sign was made possible by a similar community effort.
Since the car insurance of the driver covered only half the cost of the sign’s repair, the City provided a grant to assist with its construction. This was combined with funds from the neighborhood association, donations and fundraisers…
