Preparations for the 12th annual Pirates Day are underway at Goodhue Boat Co. – Blackwater where Commodore PJ Nagel and his wife, Quartermaster Christina Nagel and their crew are setting up for one of the most popular events of the year at Smith Mountain Lake.
“We’ll have water battles, live pirates, living pirate history demonstrations of pirate life by The Loose Cannon Company, live mermaids by Mermaid Magic, a treasure hunt on the beach, face painting, tattoos, live cannon demonstrations, and about 25-30 craft and food vendors,” said Christina Nagel. Musical performances will be by The Motley Tones and the Pirates of the Piedmont, and there will also be performances by Professional Swordsmen The Shadow Players.
