Person rescued from trash chute in East Village apartment building

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A person was rescued from a trash chute in San Diego’s East Village neighborhood Saturday morning, prompting a response from emergency crews.

Just after 9 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to the St. Teresa of Calcutta Villa, located at 1 14th St., where they found an individual trapped inside the building’s trash chute.

Firefighters worked to extricate the person, who was then transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. The individual’s current condition and the extent of their injuries have not been released…
