Montgomery County sees spike in car break-ins and thefts, 22 incidents reported in a week

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is warning residents after it saw a surge of car break-ins in July.

The warning came as police reported 22 thefts from vehicles in their weekly crime summary, spanning from July 6 to 12.

The break-ins resulted in the theft of money, property, and, in some cases, car parts. So far, only two arrests have been made in connection with robberies that occurred on Crystal Rock Drive and Rexmore Drive between July 8 and 11…
