Experience was best teacher for retiring tractor lab director

If given the opportunity to oversee a facility that is at the forefront of testing the latest cutting-edge tractor technology and collecting data revered by major agricultural manufacturers throughout the world, would you take the job?

That was the dilemma Roger Hoy found himself in 20 years ago.

At the time, the Georgia native had already landed his dream job as an agricultural engineer for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. But an annual meeting held at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) shifted the gears in his life forever.
