Bo’s First Alert 6 Forecast – Spotty strong storms tonight and Sunday night, heat wave next week

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Stray thunderstorms have formed in far southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri. More spotty thunderstorms are possible tonight mainly after 7 PM.

Some storms could be severe again with large hail, damaging winds, and a brief tornado. The tornado risk is low, but it’s a chance. The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has upgraded everyone to a SLIGHT risk tonight. The best chance of severe weather will be the early evening. After midnight, it seems the severe risk will decrease.

Otherwise, it’ll be mostly cloudy tonight with another warm and muggy night as lows will fall to the mid 70s. Heat index will only fall to the 80s.

By Sunday, a few showers are possible early in the morning but it will dry out by mid morning. Most of the day will be partly sunny and hot again. Humidity will continue to be high with heat index in the mid to upper 90s.

More strong storms are possible Sunday night, but the chances are lower. A marginal risk has been issued for everyone…
