ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Children at the Good Shepherd YMCA receive a new vending machine, and it’s not filled with snacks.
The Junior League of Rockford donated their third Bookworm Vending Machine to the Rockford community, a major milestone in its ongoing Literacy Leaders Project.
“Our summer camp kids here have been looking at the machine, asking questions, they’ve been in the flap, trying to see if there’s any snacks or drinks in there, and we were like ‘no it’s going to be books pretty soon’ so they’ve been very anxiously excited for this to be unveiled,” said Becca Homb, Good Shepherd YMCA Executive Director.
