The first true heatwave of 2025 has settled in. Sunshine dominated the skies Saturday, pushing temperatures into the 90s and sending heat indices dangerously close to the triple digits.
And sadly, I have bad news for those hoping for a break from the heat… it’s only going to get hotter.
Highs today will once again reach the lower to mid-90s under mostly sunny skies. Feels-like temperatures are expected to top 100° for most locations.
Sunday marks the beginning of a gradual warming trend, with each day climbing a degree or two higher than the last. Expect low 90s to start the week, with upper 90s looking more likely as we head toward the weekend.
Rain chances? Practically nonexistent. While a stray sprinkle or light shower can’t be ruled out, the summer ridge overhead will shut down any meaningful rain opportunities for now.
Looking ahead, there’s no sign of relief in the long-range forecast. The Ozarks appear locked into this hot and humid pattern through the end of the month.
Stay cool and stay safe everyone!…
