The James Brown statute in the Augusta Common on Broad Street recently was relocated while the downtown space is being redesigned.
The statue is being stored in a climate-controlled environment at the Augusta Museum of History for safekeeping during the construction, according to a news release from the city of Augusta.
When construction concludes, the statue will return to Broad Street and will serve as the centerpiece for the new James Brown Linear Park, which will include interactive element, visual displays of musical works, and a timeline of Brown’s achievements, according to the release…
