On July 18, a CCSO (Currituck County Sheriff’s Office) Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Mitsubishi Galant traveling north on Hwy 158 for a traffic violation. The Deputy requested a K9 Unit to assist with the traffic stop. K9 Brutus was deployed around the vehicle, and he alerted to the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle yielded 8g of cocaine and 15g of crack cocaine in various packages, along with scales, materials for packaging, and $3,441 in cash, consistent with the sale of narcotics.
