Torrid heat starts work week, late-day storms more prominent

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Another hot day is forecasted across the region on Sunday with a few less clouds and storms, which will allow temperatures and heat index values to ramp up once again. The heat risk continues to start the work week. A chance of some relief is on tap towards the middle of the week in form of a weak cool-front which will increase our odds of afternoon precipitation.

High temperatures over the next couple of days return to the mid 90s with triple digit heat index values possibly reaching the mid-triple digits. High pressure enhances the heat while suppressing widespread storm chances. A few storms could pop each day producing brief heavy rainfall……
