Tampa streets were the site of two distressing traffic incidents this past weekend. The first incident, a collision involving a three-wheel vehicle and two pedestrians, occurred early yesterday at the crossing of E. 7th Ave. and Angel Oliva Senior St. Details indicate that the 2022 Can Am Ryker was headed eastbound when it hit the pedestrians near a crosswalk, further crashing into parked and stationary vehicles, as reported by Tampa Police Department.
A second, separate event shook the local community just hours later outside a Wawa convenience store at the intersection of N. 50th St. and E. Columbus Dr. In this case, police found an adult male pedestrian deceased after being struck by a box truck. The man was discovered in the vehicle’s parking lot, and it appears he might have either laid down or collapsed prior to the incident.
The driver, who moved the truck unaware of the man’s presence, is actively cooperating with investigators. Whether malaise or intoxication played anytime of role in this death is yet to be determined.
