Panola County Sheriff applies for grant to prevent catalytic converter theft

FORT WORTH, Texas (KETK) – Panola County Sheriff Cutter Clinton was in Fort Worth on Friday presenting a grant proposal to help stop catalytic converter thefts in the area.

The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said funds from the Senate Bill 224 catalytic converter grant would be used to purchase cameras and other tools that will be placed throughout the county to help their criminal investigations.

The grant was started in order to help law enforcement agencies stop auto theft, auto burglary and catalytic converter thefts by funding new investigative equipment.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to participate in this program. Panola County is among hundreds of agencies across Texas who are applying for funding,” the sheriff’s office said…
