Summertime Sleigh
Swap your hot chocolate for snow cones at Chickasha’s Christmas in July. This festive midsummer mashup brings holiday cheer to the summer heat with water slides, arts and crafts, and a cycling Santa. Catch tree lights at Shannon Springs Park, holiday movies, boutique sales, and gift shopping through the end of the month. It’s the perfect way to channel your inner Santa on a surfboard. Plus, don’t miss the Christmas Cooldown Block Party on July 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., with games, treats, and a movie under the stars at 9:30 p.m. by the iconic Chickasha Leg Lamp.
Through July 31. Tickets, free.

Off to See the Wizard!
It’s so weird…every time I tap my heels and say “there’s no place like home,” I end up at the Civic Center Music Hall in OKC with Dorothy and her friends. Storyteller Theatre OKC presents The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, celebrating the 125th anniversary of L. Frank Baum’s beloved fairytale with a colorful, music-filled adaptation that even gives a peek into Baum’s writing process. Get ready for a trip down the Yellow Brick Road to the perfect summer show full of heart, adventure, flying monkeys, and Ariana Grande…wait, scratch that last part; that might be a different story.
We All Float On
If you haven’t been to NightWater at Riversport . . . water you waiting for? Thursday summer nights at Riversport OKC feature after-dark rafting, tubing, and surfing, plus live music and tasty specials from Big Water Grill. Each week showcases a lineup of local artists, thanks to the Oklahoma Film + Music Office and the OKC Film & Creative Industries Office. Come for the waves, stay for the tunes, and don’t be afraid to rock the boat.
July 24. Tickets, $20, free for season members. riversportokc.org
To the West, to the West
Is this what we meant by “Best in the West?” You bet. If you’ve been meaning to hit up Fourth Fridays in OKC’s West Village, this is the one. Out West Music Fest rolls in Friday, July 25, with more than 15 live performers, food trucks, a beer garden, car show, kids’ zone, and more. Each local spot brings a different music vibe modeled after U.S. cities, and local artists like King Cabbage Brass Band serve Mardi Gras party realness on the main stage at 8 p.m., while country artists, indie singer-songwriters, and DJs bring venues like The Study and Flashback Retropub to life…
