A Missouri man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for illegally possessing firearms after violently assaulting his girlfriend and a neighbor and fatally shooting his own dog while intoxicated.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Rodney W. Sippel sentenced Leslie Rector, 30, to 78 months in prison following his guilty plea in April to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The sentencing took place in U.S. District Court in St. Louis.
According to court documents, the offenses occurred on April 16, 2024, when Rector, while under the influence, assaulted his girlfriend and shot his dog. He later assaulted a neighbor while searching for his girlfriend…
