Riverview man sentenced in federal court for operating dogfighting ring

A Missouri man who admitted to operating dogfights and training dogs for violent confrontations has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk handed down the sentence to Terrell Williams, 52, after he pleaded guilty in March to one felony count of dogfighting, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison under federal law.
