LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is grappling with a low solve rate for hit-and-run cases, with only 440 out of more than 1,900 cases closed this year, representing less than 25 percent of cases cleared.
Lieutenant Cody Fulwiler of the LVMPD Traffic Bureau highlighted the difficulties in solving these crimes, citing the lack of evidence, such as vehicle plate descriptions and surveillance footage.
