Elderly woman, firefighter hospitalized after house fire in Palmer Twp., cat rescued, nearby homes damaged

PALMER TWP., Pa. — Battling a fire — and the intense heat and humidity.

“This afternoon, at about 12:45 p.m., we were alerted to a house fire behind us at 3000 William Penn Highway,” said Battalion Chief Ken McPherson of the Palmer Municipal Fire Department.
