Cooling stations open in Orange, Volusia counties as heat advisory remains in place

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County opened cooling stations across the area to help protect residents from extreme heat.

A heat advisory was issued Saturday and remains in place from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. across Central Florida. Most locations will see feel-like temperatures between 105° and 110°, with some local areas as hot as 115°.

Here’s a list of places you can visit to cool off from the hot temps:

Orange County Parks and Recreation – Indoor Space (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

  • Barnett Park (Magic Gym)
  • Goldenrod Recreation Center (Magic Gym)
  • Meadow Woods Recreation Center (Magic Gym)
  • Silver Star Recreation Center (Magic Gym)
  • Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Orange County Parks and Recreation – Outdoor Splashpad (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
