SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews responded to a vegetation fire in Pala Mesa before noon on Saturday, with evacuations later issued, according to officials with Cal Fire San Diego.
The blaze — dubbed the Pala Fire — was located on Highway 76 near Couser Canyon Road. It was reported to be at 4 acres around 11:30 a.m., threatening structures. Cal Fire called in additional resources at that time.
In another update, Cal Fire announced the fire spread had been stopped at 7 acres. The fire was 100% contained by 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department temporarily issued an Evacuation Order for nearby areas. That directive has since been lifted. An interactive map with updated emergency evacuation information can be found here…
