TxDOT launches high-visibility campaign to curb speeding in San Antonio and statewide

AUSTIN, Texas — Speeding remains the leading cause of traffic crashes in Texas, with nearly 160,000 speed-related incidents reported last year.

These crashes resulted in 1,467 fatalities and 5,921 serious injuries statewide. In the San Antonio area alone, 2024 saw 10,703 speeding-related crashes, leading to 123 deaths and 424 serious injuries.
