SPRINGFIELD–Chandler Blanchet went to bed Thursday night with a 1-shot lead at the 36th Annual Price Cutter Charity Championship, and by 5 p.m. Sunday, he was standing on the 18th green accepting the winner’s check and trophy for his first career Korn Ferry Tour title.
Blanchet began the day at -23, and a 4-shot cushion over the field, and quickly pounced on the opening par-5. He reached the green in two shots and tapped in an easy birdie putt to quickly put more space between himself and the rest of the pack.
After draining a long birdie putt on the par-3 4th hole, and another at the par-5 8th, Blanchet was well on his way to winning the tournament, but also a long way aways from the clubhouse…
