Scorching heat settles into the region, with little chances for rain

If you’ve wondered what it’s like to be a plant in a greenhouse, then you might just get your chance this week, with ongoing Heat Advisories and extremely high humidity.

For the first time in a good while, our chances for rain are very nearly non-existent, and while they might be a good thing for those still struggling with heavy rain that resulted in flooding issues across the region, it’s not so good for our heat.

Meteorologist Sean Poulos with the National Weather Service in Paducah says a strong ‘heat ridge’ is settling in, which will keep the rain away for a few days but make way for really hot temperatures and uncomfortably high humidity…
