Doug McGuire, a certified tax accountant and veteran restaurateur, is expanding his food business by signing a 22-unit development agreement with Layne’s Chicken Fingers.
McGuire credits his background in tax accounting for helping him run a financially strong restaurant group. “Tax work is seasonal, so it’s been helpful to keep my accounting staff employed year-round by having them manage our restaurant finances during slower times,” he said. McGuire manages three H&R Block offices alongside operating eight Arby’s restaurants in Ohio.
McGuire and his father began their restaurant journey 18 years ago when they opened their first Arby’s in Bucyrus, Ohio.
