PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — We have one more day of heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms, then we have a new weather pattern to enjoy starting tomorrow!
A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Chatham and Montgomery Counties. Heat indices may rise to between 105° and 109°.
We’re starting the day with clear conditions, but skies will become partly cloudy by lunchtime. There is a 40% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon as a cold front slides southward through the Piedmont. Highs will be near 90° and the UV index is 10 out of 11.
As the cold front moves farther south, slightly cooler, drier air will start to seep into the Piedmont. We will have cloudy skies tonight with lows in the lower-70’s, then highs in the mid-80’s tomorrow afternoon as skies gradually clear out. There is only a 20% chance of a stray shower on Tuesday…
