MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department has identified the man shot to death in Southeast Memphis on New Year’s Eve in 2023 as Deonte Fletcher.
Officers say the suspect in the deadly shooting is still on the run.

On December 31, 2023, officers say they responded to a shooting call around 5:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of River Valley Lane.
Police say that when they made it to the scene, Fletcher had already been taken to St. Francis Hospital, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was then airlifted to Regional One Hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
