MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Happy Monday Gulf Coast! The dog days of summer are here!
A Heat Advisory is in effect from 10AM until 7PM for most of the NBC 15 neighborhood. Sunshine will rapidly warm us up with highs topping out in the mid to upper 90s by the heart of the afternoon. When we factor in the humidity, expect heat index values up to 110. Drink plenty of water, spend time in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, limit the kids’ outdoor playtime, keep the pets inside and check on friends and neighbors. If you work outside, dress as light as you can, stay hydrated, find the shade, and take frequent breaks inside. Not much rain relief today with only stray showers in the forecast. Nights stay mild and muggy with lows only falling into the upper 70s. The weather will be on repeat Tuesday with about a third of us getting wet.
As we move towards the middle of the week, moisture levels start to creep back up leading to rain chances that will run between 60-70% Wednesday through Friday. The rain action will take the edge off the heat at times. Highs hover around 90 while overnight lows hold steady in the 70s…
