Lakeland Swan-Snatching Suspect Skips Court, Warrant Issued For Homestead Man

Alfredo Casanova, previously arrested for stealing black swans and their eggs, is now a “Warrant of the Day” after failing to appear in court.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are once again searching for Alfredo Casanova, a 30-year-old Homestead resident, after failing to appear in court.

Casanova was previously arrested in February by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Agriculture Crimes Unit for the theft of two black swans and their eggs from a community in South Lakeland. Casanova, along with an accomplice, Jordan Montoya, traveled from the Miami area to commit the unique heist.
