Fort Worth Zoo welcomes rare gharial hatchlings again this year

FORT WORTH, Texas (KDAF) — The Fort Worth Zoo has successfully hatched baby Gharial Crocodiles, a critically endangered species.

The newly hatched babies are currently about one foot long, but will eventually stretch out to more than 16 feet. This marks the first time three-peat of hatchings in North America, and Fort Worth remains the only zoo in North America to accomplish it three years in a row.
