An Arkansas Storm Team Alert Day has been issued as dangerous heat grips much of the state today. Heat index values are expected to reach between 105° and 110°, with an Extreme Heat Warning in effect for central and northeastern Arkansas. A Heat Advisory covers much of the rest of the state, so no matter where you are, it’s going to be dangerously hot. Be sure to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and check in on friends, family, and pets.
Looking ahead, actual air temperatures could reach 100° for the first time this year as we move into Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Even if we don’t hit that milestone, heat index values will remain in the triple digits…
