The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is ramping up efforts to find a Knoxville man, William Christian Powell, following a high-speed chase that concluded with an abandoned car and a cache of drugs and firearms uncovered – authorities are urging the public to exercise caution if they encounter him, indicating that he might be armed. Last Friday evening, officers witnessed a vehicle speeding through a 50 mph zone at 76 mph and initiated a pursuit, which ended with the car deserted near 410 Merchants Drive, as reported by WVLT.
Upon the exhaustive search of the area officers were unable to locate Powell, whose reckless driving and subsequent evasion of arrest have prompted a slew of charges against him, including speeding, possession of burglary tools, and multiple drug and firearm offenses; law enforcers found 30 grams of cocaine and 84 grams of marijuana, alongside two handguns within the deserted vehicle as disclosed by WBIR…
