MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobilians are voicing their concerns over a new hotel proposal, set to take the place of a popular parking lot on St. Francis Street.

“They are taking away from parking downtown. I do not know how many cars one lot holds, but even if it’s only ten, which I know, it’s a lot more than that. That’s still ten cars that have to try to find someplace else to park,” Joan Hoffman, a meeting attendee, said.The parking lot currently gives locals and tourists easy access to various bars, restaurants, and other hotspots downtown. “We be parking right here,” said Juwa Adams.If you pass by on a weekday afternoon, there may be a lot of open spaces in the lot.
