Montgomery firefighters battle blaze at storage building overnight

MONTGOMERY, Ala (WAKA Action 8) – Investigators are looking into what caused a structure fire at a storage building early Monday morning.

According to Montgomery Fire/Rescue’s Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Cooper, firefighters responded to the 2500 block of Poplar Street at around 1:41 A.M. for a possible structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story, storage structure with visible smoke and flames.

Chief Cooper says the fire spread to a nearby storage building in another yard. Crews laid hand lines around the structures to help put out the fires…
