Colma: Suspect Leads Multiple Agencies On Foot Chase After Allegedly Stealing Booze

Police in Colma arrested a man suspected of stealing alcohol and then leading multiple agencies on a foot chase over fences and streets, the department said Friday.

On July 14 at about 11:16 a.m., officers were called to the Target store at 5001 Junipero Serra Blvd on a report of a theft. Staff told officers that a man had stolen about $40 worth of alcoholic beverages and fled on foot. He was last seen heading east on Serramonte Boulevard.

Police saw a man who matched the description of the suspect carrying a large stick and walking near a car dealership. Police tried to stop the suspect, but he allegedly raised his stick in an aggressive manner and did not comply. A Taser was used but had no effect on him. The suspect then began running and a foot chase ensued…
