COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – After the release of body camera footage of a recent, deadly officer-involved shooting in Colorado Springs, the conversation around the topic has been making rounds on social media.
On July 5th, police said they shot and killed Alex Martinez-Sarmiento after getting reports of him brandishing a gun in downtown Colorado Springs around 1:30 a.m. as many clubs were letting out for the night. They said, once he was contacted, he ignored commands to put his hands up, running away, reaching into his waistband, where police said he was seen stashing his gun.
